The Soul Whip has a decent range capable of covering most mobs in a 1x1 room (dungeon). While it doesn't go as far as the rose does, Flay's range isn't something to laugh at. If you're playing a class like tank or healer where life steal isn't as effective on you, the Soul Whip offers you way more life steal than the flower of truth.Ĥ) The Soul Whip's range is comparable to the Flower of Truth's Heat-Seeking rose. While the one second cooldown timer might not seem to be a big deal, on floors like floor 4 or floor 7 where there are hordes of ad mobs and where losing even one second of life steal could mean the difference between life or death, the Soul Whip definitely outshines the Flower of Truth in terms of dependency.ģ) Flay's infinite pierce means that the Soul Whip's ability to life steal has limitless potential (depending on how many mobs is hit with Flay) whereas the flower of truth caps out at 3 procs of life steal/syphon. Requirements aside, the Soul Whip is definitely the better of the two.ġ) The Soul Whip out damages the Flower of Truth by almost if not double.Ģ)Flay can be spammed while Heat-seeking rose has a 1 second cooldown timer. It's not exactly the easiest weapon to unlock so it's only understandable that the Flower of Truth has a more stable spot in the Skyblock Community. Why the Soul Whip? The Soul Whip is not known to be a good life steal item and the reason is simply because not much is really known about the Soul Whip. However, I will definitely make the argument that the Soul Whip is the better choice of the two. So as it stands the question remains: What's better for Life stealing? The Flower of Truth or the Soul Whip? Now before we go into it, the Flower of Truth is definitely a strong and reliable source of life steal and owning an FOT is by no means bad.
The more popular option, the Flower of Truth, has stood it's ground for the longest time being known as one of the most reliable weapons for life steal and survivability. So an obvious clash between what offers more life steal will definitely come up when considering the Soul Whip. Not only that but flay also procs enchants. What does this mean? This means I'm effectively doubling my DPS making the Soul Whip deal about twice as much damage as the Livid Dagger, Flower of Truth and out damage weapons like Shadow Fury and a Dungeonized 50 Mil Midas Sword. I can use LEFT AND RIGHT CLICK AT THE SAME TIME. Now why is this weapon busted in my opinion? Why would I use a Soul Whip that's much more expensive than a Livid Dagger if I'm going to be doing around the same damage anyways? Well my friends, the reason is because I can simultaneously cast flay while using my left click to do damage. (NOTE: Be careful when using this as aiming too high could shoot over the mob you're targeting so aim near the belly or feet of the mob you're targeting).

Flay also pierces infinitely which means no matter how many mobs are in front of you, Flay will pierce through, dealing full damage to any mob in it's line of sight. In short it's basically a mage beam with an arc-shape.
